Thanksgiving vickning - Smoked Turkey Tartar
Before guests prepared to leave a traditional Swedish dinner party they are offered a small dish called vickning, this to make sure they had something in their stomach to take them through a long and maybe cold trip home. I created a Thanksgiving vickning to serve before bedtime next Thursday. This dish is a delicious end to a great day with family and friends.
Smoked Turkey Tartar
1 smoked turkey drumstick
1 apple
3 tablespoons sour cream
1 tablespoon creamed horse radish
2 teaspoons orange juice
3 tablespoons cracked pecans for decoration
some sprigs of parsley.
salt and black pepper
dark bread
Cube the turkey meat, peel and shred the apple, mix all ingredients except for the pecans. Take out rounds of bread using a glass of desired size, butter the bread and putthe tartar on the bread, sprinkle with cracked pecans and decorate with a sprig of parsley.
